Through contemporary calligraphy, sculpture, and painting, the artist delves into the fluid space between lines, exposes the emptiness in our understanding, and challenges the thinking mind of humankind.
This collection celebrates the captivating interplay between light and artistic expression. Inspired by my time in Spain, I've delved into the evocative Cyanotype technique, a process that harnesses the inherent connection between light and light-sensitive mediums. Alongside these recent works, I revisit a series crafted over a decade ago using the unique Photograme method. Developed in Canada, this technique involves the delicate dance of whole-body figures, light exposure, and poetic calligraphy, resulting in a beautiful fusion of visual art and lyrical expression.
In essence, this collection serves as a visual testament to the power of the human mind, transcending linguistic boundaries to evoke a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of thought, perception, and expression.
The use of fragmented calligraphic forms and sharp cuts is a visual representation of the deconstruction of language, stripping it of its surface and exposing the blankness that often lies beneath it. The empty spaces that are left behind are metaphors for the voids in our understanding, where meaning can often be found in the absence of information.
Original handcrafted albums represent a unique fusion of traditional 16th- and 17th-century Persian albums and contemporary mixed media techniques.
